Bee a Queen

In honour of International Women’s Day in 2021, Havas Media Group Italy celebrated the contributions of the network’s women with their “Bee a Queen” initiative, highlighting the agency’s commitment to creating an inclusive working environment. As a network, we want to ensure all Havas women are celebrated for their professional abilities and successes; creating a dedicated space for people to reflect on their contributions plays a critical role in overcoming stereotypes and any mental barriers people may have. And using the metaphor of bees and a hive helps us to remember that we’re a cohesive team where everyone’s contributions are valued.

Executing this programme involved several key initiatives. First, colleagues could send women in the network virtual postcards that highlighted their positive characteristics – these postcards were then given both to the women they were about and posted on the internet for anyone within Havas Group to admire. To capitalise on the “bee” metaphor and remind women of their value to the agency, all Havas women were also gifted with flower seeds from 3Bee that will grow into hospitable habitats for bees. Lastly, 20 people who participated in the postcard initiative were gifted a prize of attending a celebratory virtual event.
